Safety Tips

Personal:

  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • There is safety in numbers.
  • Avoid inherently dangerous situations.
  • Always keep ID on your person
  • Keep extra medication on hand.
  • Wash your hands regularly.

Home:

  • Keep a cellphone by your bed.
  • Lock your doors and windows.
  • Have a carbon monoxide detector.
  • Regularly check your smoke detectors
  • Remove tripping hazards.
  • Keep fire extinguishers on hand.
  • Keep important numbers by the phone.
  • Have an emergency plan.
  • Secure guns away from children
  • Secure medications away from children

Driving:

  • Make sure your vehicle is in good condition.
  • Check your tire pressure regularly.
  • Slow down and drive defensively.
  • Don’t underestimate the weather.
  • Have an emergency kit.
  • Avoid distractions.
  • Don’t text while driving.
  • Don’t drink and drive.
  • Don’t drive drowsy!

Travel:

  • Always let someone know where you are going.
  • Always carry ID.
  • Always lock your hotel room
  • Have a backup plan.
